Abstract

Purpose

The purpose of this paper is to solve the tubing corrosion problem of B Block on the Right Bank of Amu Darya river sour gas field.

Design/methodology/approach

By using four-point-bending method, the tubing’s ability to resist sulfide-stress cracking was tested. Simulating the wellbore corrosive environment, the corrosion inhibitor which was suitable for gas filed had been screened. According to the characteristic of Amu Darya river gas field, the corrosion monitor system had been designed.

Findings

From the feedback of wellbore corrosion monitor result, the corrosion rate was lower than 0.076 mm/a.

Originality/value

This anti-corrosion technique provides security for the development of gas field.

Abstract

Purpose

A large number of high-frequency harmonic voltages exist in the output voltage of the inverter, which will affect the performance of the motor. The purpose of this paper is to obtain the influence of high frequency harmonic voltage on the performance of the line start permanent magnet synchronous motor (LSPMSM) and reveal the mechanism of influence. The research results can provide help for the design of LSPMSM driven by inverter drives.

Design/methodology/approach

First, the actual output voltage data of the inverter is collected, and then the fundamental voltage and high frequency harmonic voltage data can be obtained by performing the fast Fourier transformation method on the voltage data. Second, the finite element model is established. During the finite element calculation, the obtained fundamental voltage and the main harmonic voltage components are used as the voltage source. To research the effect of high frequency harmonic voltage on the performance of motor, a reference group without high frequency harmonic voltage is set up, which is used to compare and analyze the effect of high-frequency harmonics on the performance of the motor. To verify the correctness of the model, a prototype based on the model parameters is manufactured, and then the back EMF experiment and load experiment are performed. The test data and calculation results are compared and analyzed.

Findings

The coupling relationship between high frequency time harmonic magnetic field and low frequency space harmonic magnetic field is obtained. The stator copper loss and rotor eddy-current loss are calculated and analyzed under normal supply voltage and abnormal supply voltage, and the influence mechanism is revealed

Originality/value

The coupling relationship between high frequency time harmonic magnetic field and low frequency space harmonic magnetic field is obtained. The sensitivity of the high frequency harmonic voltage to the stator copper loss and rotor eddy-current loss is obtained, and the mechanism of losses change is revealed.

Abstract

Purpose

The study explores how pre-service teachers engage in Tong Ke Yi Gou (“Same lesson and different design”) as a Chinese version of lesson study in a language teacher education course.

Design/methodology/approach

Data were collected from multiple sources, including semi-structured interviews, field observations, as well as individual reflections constructed by the participants. The different data sources served to triangulate and enrich each other, shedding light on the student teachers’ learning experiences through lesson study.

Findings

The findings of the study reveal the participants’ enhanced motivation and participation through a process-oriented, collaborative design (i.e. joint lesson planning, micro-teaching, collaborative debrief and individual reflections). In addition, the participants engaged in constant comparisons at multiple levels, which collectively refined and expanded their pedagogical knowledge about language teaching. Such rich and collaborative experiences further contributed to their reflections on and for practice as future language teachers. On the other hand, the study also reveals the emotional challenges faced by some participants due to the competitive atmosphere brought by the comparative element embedded in the process of Tong Ke Yi Gou.

Originality/value

This study incorporates the mode of Tong Ke Yi Gou into a pre-service teacher education course in order to examine how it can benefit student teachers’ learning to teach. The findings highlight the power of “comparison” in promoting student teachers’ reflective and analytical thinking at multiple levels with practical implications for current pre-service teacher education programs.

Abstract

Purpose

Marketing literature has made little progress on the connection between service quality and customer citizenship advocacy, helping and feedback sub-dimensions that may promote competitiveness. It is also unclear to what extent service quality may serve as an underlying motivation for explaining the relationship between affective commitment (a primary antecedent of customer citizenship) and the selected sub-dimensions. Consequently, the aim of the current research is to develop a customer citizenship behaviour model and address these matters in a peer-to-peer service context.

Design/methodology/approach

Survey data were collected from 610 customers of a ride-hailing peer-to-peer service brand. Data analysis included structural equation modelling and bootstrapping.

Findings

Affective commitment influences service quality. Service quality motivates customer citizenship behaviours directed towards the ride-hailing brand (feedback) and other customers (advocacy and helping). Service quality provides an indirect path for connecting affective commitment with the customer citizenship behaviours in varying degrees.

Originality/value

This study is the first to verify the relevance of all three customer citizenship behaviours in a single model as influenced by service quality. The current research is further a step forward in understanding the mediating role of service quality and its potential to ensure customers' feelings of attachment towards the brand are translated in citizenship actions. The findings are noteworthy, considering the varying service levels generally experienced in a peer-to-peer service environment. Peer-to-peer service brands may fall back on their emotional connection with customers to influence service judgements and ultimately benefit from customer citizenship behaviours.

We develop and validate measurement instruments for the business partner, watchdog, and scorekeeper roles of controllers. This study addresses calls to enhance the quality of survey research in management accounting by devoting more attention to scale development and especially to construct validity. By focusing on the activity sets of the controllers’ roles, we provide a theoretically and empirically grounded picture of their current roles. The measurement instruments presented in this study enable systematic research progress on controller roles, their relationships, antecedents, and performance outcomes.

Abstract

Purpose

The purpose of this study is to provide new insights into the link between market orientation (MO) and strategic performance by disaggregating the MO construct. With a focus on responsiveness, a crucial element of MO, this research explores antecedents as well as outcomes in the strategic business units (SBUs) of MNCs. The decision-making structure of the firm was modeled as a moderator of the link between responsiveness and performance.

Design/methodology/approach

Survey data from upper level managers employed by 126 MNC SBUs representing 23 industries were collected.

Findings

The key findings indicate that: responsiveness mediates the link between intelligence generation and strategic performance; responsiveness also mediates the link between resource flexibility and strategic performance; and the link between responsiveness and strategic performance is moderated by the SBU's decision-making structure (i.e. centralization).

Originality/value

This study contributes to the conceptual precision of the composite construct MO, and also illustrates an avenue to increase strategic performance. Managerially, it provides managers with prescriptive suggestions for leveraging the value of the elements of MO with respect to the firm's decision-making structure.

Abstract

Production‐cost duality was first introduced by Ronald Shephard (1953) in his seminal study, Cost and Production Functions. The application of duality to production and cost was extended by Uzawa (1962, 1964). However, not until the 1970s did the Shephard‐Uzawa duality analysis achieve its influential role in modern microeconomic thought. In simple words, the Shephard‐Uzawa duality theorem indicates that a firm's cost function summarizes all of the relevant features of the production technology, whereas the firm's production function contains all of the relevant features of the cost function for each set of input and output prices. If certain standard technical conditions (i.e., relating to convexity and continuity) are satisfied, then the theorem implies that there is a one‐to‐one relationship between points on the cost surface and points on the production surfaces.

Consumption is a way of communication whereby consumers express, position or/and differentiate themselves within their society or affiliated groups. A great part of consumers’ lives are spent on various purchase activities, and many would be eager to understand the factors underlying those behaviours.

This chapter primarily deals with the cultural, social, psychological and personal factors that affect consumer behaviour. Each of these factors in relation to consumer behaviour is discussed in detail. The types of consumer buying behaviours and the consumer decision-making processes then provide the fundamentals of the topic along with their relevance to Turkish consumers.
